Terms of Service

By using OutClean, submitting a domain, requesting a scan, or subscribing to notifications, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you act for an organization, you represent that you can bind it. Do not use the service if you do not agree.

You may submit only a domain you own or are expressly authorized to administer. Before scanning, you must prove control with the unique DNS TXT record or HTML meta tag we provide.

Placing that proof and asking us to verify it expressly authorizes OutClean to make the passive requests described in the scoring method, publish the domain’s score and issue count, retain scan history, and perform later scheduled or owner-requested re-scans while the listing remains active.

You must not submit a third party’s domain, manufacture proof, bypass ownership checks, or use OutClean as a bulk-scanning or denial-of-service tool.

The scan is passive and read-only. It observes a normal page response, its redirect behavior, response headers, cookie attributes, limited inline-document signals, and public SPF/DMARC records. It does not enumerate routes, scan ports beyond normal HTTP/HTTPS traffic, attempt authentication, send attack payloads, or exploit a vulnerability.

Public listings show the domain, score from 0 to 100, status band, issue count, scan date, and sharing controls. Vulnerability or finding details are not public. We may withdraw a listing that is disputed, unlawful, technically invalid, or no longer owner-authorized.

You may request removal at [CONTACT EMAIL PLACEHOLDER]. We may require renewed control proof before changing an ownership-sensitive record.

Rank is determined by effective security score, highest first. Equal scores use the most recent successful scan. Score freshness decay is documented in the scoring method. Payment and social engagement do not improve score or rank. X activity may affect a separate Featured strip only.

Links to Build Guard, Noumenon, X, or other third-party services are provided for convenience and are governed by their own terms. A red, amber, or green score is not a purchase requirement, endorsement, warranty, certification, penetration test, or guarantee of security.

• Do not interfere with the service, evade rate limits, automate bulk submissions, or probe its infrastructure.
• Do not upload unlawful content or personal data into domain fields or proof tokens.
• Do not misrepresent a badge, alter its displayed score, or imply a broader audit than the passive scan performed.
• Do not use scan results to attack, extort, shame, or unlawfully access any system.

We may change signal weights prospectively to improve defensibility, pause scans to protect networks, apply rate limits, correct errors, or discontinue the service. Material scoring changes will be documented. X data and other third-party systems are best-effort and never block core ranking.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service and scores are provided “as is” and “as available.” A passive scan is incomplete by design. It can produce false positives, false negatives, stale results, or network-dependent differences. You remain responsible for security review, remediation, compliance, backups, and professional advice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [LEGAL ENTITY PLACEHOLDER] and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, revenue, goodwill, or security incidents arising from the service. Aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid for OutClean in the prior 12 months. Because v1 is free, no payment can improve rank. Some jurisdictions do not allow every limitation, so lawful limits apply.

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify [LEGAL ENTITY PLACEHOLDER] against claims arising from your unauthorized domain submission, misuse, legal violation, or misrepresentation of a score or badge.
